Video Games I Am Excited Will Exist

this one very scary woman
I played a lot more new video games last year than I usually do, and it seems like I'm on a roll, cause I'm very excited to play more video games. Here are some I want to play that do not exist yet and I am very excited to play when they do! I'll link all the Steam pages for the ones that have them if you're interested in wishlisting.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

The original Tomodachi Life is an absolute classic of the 3DS for me. And while Miitopia was clearly meant to be a spiritual successor it just... wasn't the same. When I open Tomodachi Life, I don't want to play a "video game" with "goals" you can "beat". I want to fling my little guys around like rag dolls and smash them into each other so they can have rap battles and appear in each other's dreams. While I'm a teensy bit worried for Living the Dream - it looks like it might have a bit more Gameplay than is ideal - as long as the developers understand what made the original game so special, and commit to adding gay marriage, I'm down.

Wylde Society

Most of these games are on my list because they're follow ups or just new games by developers whose work I've loved before. Wylde Society is a very direct prequel to Wylde Flowers, a story-driven witch farming sim that I loved a lot. But honestly, Wylde Society is even more interesting to me because it's a different type of simulator, running a boarding house and matchmaking your guests. That's awesome. I'm gonna get up to some Emma Woodhouse antics and I can't wait.

Forbidden Solitaire

This game's from the developers of Home Safety Hotline, a game I did not personally play, but I was on call with my friend Chris when he was playing and I helped him solve a lot of the puzzles. I'm definitely gonna play Forbidden Solitaire myself. It seems like it's going to be what I wanted Inscryption to be, and every single screenshot and clip of the game that has been shared so far just makes me think "yesssssssss."

The Incident at Galley House

This one seems to be very early in development, so I'm not expecting to play it any time soon, but The Roottrees are Dead might be my favorite game of 2025 (tied with Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar), so I got really excited that the developers are already working on another mystery game. I'm ery into the aesthetic, and the mechanic of looking back in time reminds me of Return of the Obra Dinn, which is one of my favorite games. Yep, put it on the list.

Video games are Awesome and I Like Them.

  1. Games games games. I never really played Tomodachi but saw plenty of videos about it. I should try it once I fix the battery of my 3DS. Wylde Society seems like something my wife would totally love!
