Doggy at the Door

Creature of waking me up.

Scout’s gonna be 15 in February, and in her old age she’s developed some quirks. The most recent is that she really, really loves spending time under my bed. It should be sweet! I like being able to smell this stinky girl when I’m lying in bed. 

Unfortunately, her sweetness comes with a cost. Multiple times in the past few weeks, I have been woken up in the middle of the night by her scratching at my door to be let in. I open the door, she marches right back to her Spot, and I have to try and fall back asleep, something I’m historically bad at. 

We’ve found a solution in closing the door to the hallway that leads to my room, so when she scratches at that it’s too far away to wake me up. I feel kind of bad. I want to be so happy that she wants to spend time with me! But boy oh boy, this smelly little thing can cause Problems.
